The Implementation of Community Empowerment Learning (KKN-PPM) involved 90 students from various study programs.
The implementation of this year’s KKN is expected to help support the development and continue the implementation of the strategic programs of the Bangka Regent. In addition to carrying out activities that are able to encourage independence and prosperity in a sustainable manner. KKN-PPM UGM is one of the places to hold students together with the community, as a form of community service and empowerment in accordance with the context of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Universitas Gadjah Mada, UI, IPB, UNS, UNSRI, STTP are a number of universities that have agreed on cooperation in the fields of research, training and community service in the form of MoU. In the past few years the Regional Government of Bangka has collaborated with local universities such as UBB, STKIP Muhammadiyah, PERTIBA, STIKES and other universities.
KKN-PPM UGM is a form of synergy between the Regional Government of Bangka and various elements of development, from the community / community organizations / community leaders, Government, Private and Higher Education with the quadruple helix concept, namely government, businessmen, community and universities with good cooperation research, training and community service.
In his speech, Bangka Regent Tarmizi said that the implementation of the KKN – PPM UGM this time was different because the Bangka district government wanted the KKN-PPM UGM work program to be harmonized with the vision, mission and regional program.
The opportunity was also explained by the Regent about the plan to develop Tourism Special Economic Zones (SEZ) on the East coast of Sungailiat.
In order to smooth the implementation of KKN – PPM UGM in 2018, it is expected that the Regent of all OPD heads and Sub-District Heads in Bangka regency can actively participate in helping and providing a sense of comfort and security to all KKN – PPM UMG participants.
Particularly the District Head of Mendo Barat, Sub-District Head of Merawang and Sub-District Head Sungailiat to monitor and facilitate the implementation of Community Service Program.
“I hope this implementation of KKN – PPM UGM in 2018 can provide good and sustainable benefits for the village and urban village communities,” said Tarmizi.
It is hoped that the implementation of this KKN can run optimally, useful and memorable for the community and the students themselves either through coordination and consultation with the surrounding community as well as the village and sup-district government officials so that they can always be directed in carrying out any programs that need to be society.
Representative of the Directorate of Community Service KKN – PPM UGM Fiscal Year 2018 Ir Adriana, MP explained, since 1951 UGM has sent students outside Java to conduct Community Service Programs. Then the change from KKN to KKN PPM UGM is a change from development to empowerment.
“KKN PPM activities are packaged to deal with serious problems that occur in the community that are thematic through a multi-disciplinary approach consisting of 4 clusters in collaboration with the community,” Adriana said.
The organization of this Community Service Program began on June 23 until August 10, 2018 with locations and themes tailored to the potentials of each KKN location, namely Community Empowerment to meet the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which will be located in Kelurah Jelitik. In Kemuja Village through the theme of Community Empowerment through Plantation Crop Cultivation, Horticulture and Home Industry while Improving Community Welfare through optimizing the results of rice fields and consumption mushroom cultivation was placed in the Village of Kimak, Merawang District.
Present at the event were the Assistant, Expert Staff, OPD Head, Section Head, Sub-District Head, Village Head and other Village Heads as well as several sponsors for the implementation of the KKN including, KAGAMA, Tanjung Pesona Management, PT.
